Day 20
Hiking at Yongmasan 용 마 산 mountain today, the journey wasn't easy but when we arrived at the top, it was really all worth it! The scenery, the view, was just breathtaking.... If I can, I would definitely spent the whole day there...
We have to pass by the fountain before we could get there but unfortunately, there isn't any single drop of water at the fountain... This is what it look like
The hike at the beginning was easy, lots of rocks for us to step on and the hill wasn't that steep...
However as we go along, it starts to get challenging and steeper... This was the view that we had taken during our way to the top of the mountain...
I was feeling a little emotional during the hike up the mountain... March is one of the toughest month I have to go through... especially this year.... Tear a lot on the way up to the mountain... thinking of my late grandma... build a small 'castle' made of rocks at the top of the mountain for my grandma... hoping that she can sees it... One of my friend added the pine fruit for my grandma...
婆婆您看到了吗?我在上山做给您的。我今天去爬山爬着爬着就想起你了,又哭了起来。我好想你哦婆婆,想你的微笑您的笑声... 我好心痛哦,好伤心哦... 婆婆您还在就好...
Couldn't control my tears... as I go up higher it just keeps filling me in... I felt lonely... just wanted to avoid all people around me... wonder around the mountain aimlessly... covering up the tears... it's hard...
When we got to the mid point, there are 2 ways to go, either left or right the first one shows a distinctive path while the second one shows a more adventurous path.. Some of my friends when to the first one while me being the more dangerous kind, decided to take the more adventurous one... There was literally no path, it was just basically rocks and sands and it was really very steep... we really have to use our hands to grip on to the rocks to get our balance and push ourselves up, it was exciting and scary at the same time... This is the path we took to climb up to the top... I did slip a few times but it was not that bad..
Just take a look at that, we really are rock climbing without any ropes... The view at the top is the best!
We even met some new Korean friends there while taking pictures at the top of the mountain!
Going up was challenging but going down is a problem... I did have some difficulties going down the mountain as it was really steep.. had to hold on to the rocks and the railings (not all the path have that railing) for support...
The hike took us about 3-4 hours to get up and down including taking pictures... it was really an exciting hike...
After our way back down, we were all very hungry... we went to walk around the area to see if there are any nice food that we could find, in the end we walked one big round and got back to the same spot and went in to the first restaurant that we saw... The food there was slightly below average for me... and it was also quite costly....
We also went to look at the markets nearby. They really sell a variety of different food ranging from seafood to vegetables to even fried chicken, all in that market. After that we took the subway back to our apartment while some of us went to buy the ingredients for dinner...
For dinner we had the famous flower soup made by one of my friend and also some stir fry vegetables, we went to the wet market which I found out with my friend just yesterday, they had everything there and it was also in cheap prices!
We bought 2kg of pork for 18000 won, 3 big bag of spinach for 2000 won and 3 cabbage for 6000k won, it was really worth the price.
This was what we had for dinner.
Delicious. It feels like home again... On the side note...I did burnt the egg once again... :(
As mentioned today was rather emotional... mostly about my grandma... feeling lonely all of a sudden... feeling lost... being afraid to do things.... I don't feel me anymore...
